SAN FRANCISCO -- The NBA has suspended Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green for one game for stepping on the chest of the Sacramento Kings' Domantas Sabonis, the league announced Tuesday night.
"The suspension was based in part on Green's history of unsportsmanlike acts," the NBA said in a statement.
Green will serve his suspension Thursday when the Warriors host the Kings for Game 3 at Chase Center. Sacramento holds a 2-0 lead in the series.
The incident between Green and Sabonis occurred with 7:03 remaining in the fourth quarter of the Kings' 114-106 Game 2 win on Monday.

In the beginning I felt that he would be suspended

But then thought he might get a pass because of the foot being grabbed

Right call in the end

Such a weak suspension, purely on reputation

Could end up benefitting the Warriors though

Physical assault vs a hard foul that happens all game long

Funny the groin kicker has the audacity to complain about uncalled fouls

That was a violent stomp, and he put his entire body weight onto the chest as he jumped over him

There is no defense, no justification

Holding happens all game every game, assault does not

Cowen Cowheard (misspelled name) said yesterday on talk radio, that Green is the reason for much of Golden State's success... Says all great teams have had a tough guy..He went on to name a few from decades ago.

Green's history -- including 163 career technical fouls, 17 ejections and now four suspensions.

Green has been called for six flagrant fouls and 27 technical fouls in 147 career playoff games.

It doesn't appear the "hold" by Sabonis was intentional but more of a reaction to grab his own face, Green's foot seems to be tangled in there and natural reaction to not tripping is a rough/hard step. But it did seem Green also pushed off an jumped with mostly his off leg. The jump looked unnecessary and made it 10x worse.

NBA players are on the floor falling down almost every play that isn't a jump shot. Had Green fallen over Sabonis would probably be the only one called for a foul.
